Drama Schools

KEMA is a Music & Performing Arts School and Music Education Consultant aiming at using the arts to bring out creativity and confidence.
We specialise in helping children and young people reach their highest potential and work on educational skills all through the medium of music. Music is extremely powerful and has many positive affects on the brain. It helps with cognitive development, language, communication and social skills and with education, to name a few. We are a music school with a different approach to music tuition: Using Music to Enhance You! As a school we prepare students for Graded examinations and have a 100% Pass Rate on music exams. We mostly use ABRSM examination body. In addition we’ve used Trinity, Rockschool and RGT examination bodies and we teach a range of genres.

Starlight Music Academy (SMA) is a service specialising in engaging young people in programs designed to increase their opportunities for positive development in their personal and professional lives, particularly in the Arts, Self Development and Leadership programmes. We have been running since 1997 and have developed an excellent record in helping young people gain Arts Awards Qualifications in Music, Dance and Drama. Our vocal training courses have produced finalist hit TV show “The Voice” and we currently run various programmes in schools, colleges and youth centres through South London.

SMA has also run a Youth Leadership Programme, which is a self-development course for young people encouraging the development of self confidence, good citizenship and critical thinking. We currently run a successful relationship programme called “Let’s have a One 2 One” in which we explore personal and professional relationships with teenagers as a hopeful deterrent from engagement in Criminal Gang affiliation and other negative forms of relationships. Recently we successfully ran “STOMP!” – A dance off featuring local talent who competed in various heats and a final showcase. We are currently developing a vocal training and community Choir programme which will begin officialLY in July 2014. All our Music programmes are geared towards engaging young people in projecting a positive message among their peer group.

The back bone of SMA is our Volunteers programme through which we provide necessary work experiences and avenues for employment opportunities to the local community.

My Runway Group is a platform for youth development and creative growth.

For the past 6 years, My Runway Group has been a youth led creative platform that inspires, innovates and informs. Our passionate team is the driving force behind our productions, everything photography to PR is done in-house, giving experience and responsibility to the youth.  The multi-level platform is specifically designed to be giving young people opportunities. As a collective we can give experience to those interested in various industries from the arts to public relations. The clear and consistent growth we have experienced and are projecting means that it is very profitable for businesses to partner with us.Some of our most important partners are charities because giving back is at the heart of our ideology.  We believe that strong connections with our community will help promote a positive image for future generations to never be held back and realise their full potential.

Ananse Arts is a new Afro-Caribbean Theatre, Film and Television production company. We create content for the Black community, whilst using our creativity to tell our stories and to explore and pay homage to our history. We create the positive characters, we write the stories, scripts and we own the work. Ananse Arts seeks to be a major media organisation that employs the best in Black talent. We hope to have a 95% African and Afro Caribbean employment rate by 2025, we also wish to create a variety of long term employment opportunities for school leavers and graduates through our future in-house apprenticeship schemes and training courses. Ananse Arts is actively investing in Black and Ethnic youth to develop their own creative abilities, so that our stories can continue to be told.

Ananse Arts will explore the idea of identity, culture and heritage, including what it means to be Black in the UK.

Ananse Arts fills the void created by the lack of authentic, positive and respectful Caribbean and ethnically diverse programming currently available in the UK. We produce content ranging from Comedy to documentary and we are always ready to move forward into new avenues of expression. We seek to be the voice that has previously been silenced and express ourselves without fear or limitation. We want to spark debate, start positive and worthwhile protest, nurture talent, inspire change and start conversation regarding current issues affecting the Black community, with the focus of positively changing the way the main stream media and other members of the public interact, view and understand the Black community.
