Amagoda Claimed

The story of Amagoda (meaning ‘braids’ in Zulu/Northern Ndebele) begins about 6 years ago, with a gap year experience in tutoring, which made us realised how easy online platforms made it to link tutors to the students that need them. We decided to created Amagoda because we were all too familiar with the struggle of finding Afro haircare services, as well as the lack of variety and options. There are so many talented people around us yet we dont always know where to find them.

Amagoda is an online platform designed to link customers and hairdressers, nail technicians and beauticians anywhere in the country. We work with both freelancers and business. As a security measure we require service providers to provide a proof of identity once they sign-up in order to become verified.

Features for customers:

• search for services by location and service category
• request a service (e.g. group bookings, special occasions) b for service providers who are interested to apply
• If you see a service provider of interest, you can also invite them to apply to the service you requested and receive quotations
• Rate and review the service you receive from the provider

Features for service provider (hairdresser, nail technician, barber, beauty therapist etc.)

• Set your availability and unavailability
• Create services with gallery images and videos of the service
• Set the service location (can be at yours’ or the client’s location)
• Apply to become a featured service provider to increased your profile visibility to new clients
