Shanti-Chi immortalises the spirit of melanin rich indigenous diaspora communities through the folk tales, myths, legends and archetypes. We remember our stories from an indigenous centred perspective helping maintain a sense of identity. We protect, preserve, and fortify a legacy for the next generation. Shanti-Chi improves family lifestyles with our back to basics, safe gathering spaces that encourage community inclusion addressing isolation.

Shanti-Chi reinforces traditions by sharing daily practices of our culture through workshops (storytelling, drumming, music, arts and crafts, wood-carving) and spiritual practices such as (Chigwa, meditation, yoga and martial arts). The practices and ceremonies promote self-love, therefore igniting a deeper healing. This deeper healing increases community and environmental responsibility. It enables the matriarchal energy to shine & nurture the children. All the programmes to a greater or lesser degree make a practical difference by giving participants: 

a) Transferable skills – articulate language communication (body, written and spoken), problem solving, team building, listening, leadership, navigational compass and map reading, health and safety protocols and clear self-expression;

b) Techniques to overcome fears, confidence to step out of comfort zone, methods to release stress, practices to alleviate some of life’s pressures, knowledge to develop well-being; 

c) A safe space to bring those who are at the margins of society in tune with Mother Nature and our ancient ancestral stories; 

d) An opportunity to become guardians of the natural environment, enabling participants to become better versions of themselves (armed with positive affirmations, meditations and healthy menus); 

e) An opportunity to full joy the oral traditions in a natural environment and advance – self-esteem, self-love, self-determination and self-actualisation for a better world.
